KAYAKING
Come experience nature up close by kayaking leisurely through the channels of Mahahual’s mangrove roots. Mangroves are shrubs or trees that grow along coastlines in brackish water (part salt/part fresh). Mangrove forests are incredibly important coastal ecosystems. They help prevent coastal flooding, protect marine habitats from harmful nutrients in land runoff, provide nesting and breeding habitat for fish, shellfish and migratory birds, and so much more. On this tour you will learn more about mangroves and what they do for the environment, see some of the most impressive native birds, lots of crabs and fish babies as you enter their nurseries and you might even see a crocodile!
